Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine

My name is Rachel and I am a fully qualified, traditional acupuncturist and facial enhancement acupuncturist working from a quiet and relaxing clinic in Barton under Needwood, Staffordshire, situated close to Burton upon Trent, Derby, Tamworth, Uttoxeter and Lichfield.

In 2025 I won a prestigious Woman Who Achieves award, shortlisted and chosen from hundreds of entries from all over the UK.

My original degree was in Medical Biochemistry and I worked as a chartered accountant for over 20 years before experiencing stress and burnout. Western medicine suppressed my symptoms but led to side effects and failed to resolve the underlying issues. It was after a course of acupuncture that I finally felt a sense of peace and calm again and was able to feel true connection, both with myself and others. I was so passionate about my own outcome that I wanted to train as an acupuncturist myself so that I could share its benefits with others.

I trained at The Acupuncture Academy in Leamington Spa and hold a Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture, which is a three year degree level qualification accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board.   My training was comprehensive and covered all aspects of Chinese medical and acupuncture theory, anatomy, biomedicine, and clinical skills. The training had a focus on Five Element Acupuncture which means that I treat the person as a whole at mind, body, spirit level in preference to focusing on symptoms alone. This means that patients often see improvements in many areas of their health and wellbeing, such as improved energy, sleep or motivation, as well as their presenting complaint.

At Flo Acupuncture, I specialise in helping people manage a wide range of physical, mental, and emotional health conditions. Whether you’re struggling with chronic pain, migraines, fertility, hormonal challenges such as perimenopause or menstrual issues, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, pregnancy complaints, digestive concerns, skin complaints, respiratory and heart conditions, side effects of chemotherapy and far more. Acupuncture can provide relief and balance. I also have a particular interest in mental and emotional health, offering support for stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, PTSD, addiction, and grief.
